Business Legend's 1999 Sales Broke 20 Billion Yuan

Legend announced January 13 that last year's total sales broke the 20 billion-yuan mark and its income earned from products sales reached 14 billion-yuan. According to estimates by a Beijing estimator, the value of the Legend name brand rose to 7.68 billion yuan, ranking seventh out of all name brands in China and first in the Chinese computer industry.

Last year, Legend sold 1.25 million computers, an 80% increase from the year before; 1 million of those computers were desktop computers, a 74% increase, while home PCs accounted for 410,000 computers, up 91%.

Last year, Legend occupied 8.5% of the market share in the Asia-Pacific region, marking the first time that it had the greatest volume of PC sales in the region. It also jumped from the number five spot to the number three spot, in terms of PC market share, in the world.
