Beijing to Hold International Hi-Tech Industries Week
The Third Beijing International High-Tec Industries Week will be held in Beijing from May 8 to 12 this year.
Resources have it that the Beijing International High-Tech Industries Week is Scheduled to be held in May of every Year. The event of this year is to be sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Foreign Trade, the Ministry of Education and the Beijing government.
By now, Governments, enterprises, and special organizations from more than 40 countries have announced their intention to attend the event and Chinese state leaders will also be present, according to Liu Qi, Mayor of Beijing.
Liu said on January 10 at a press conference held by the Information Office of the State Council that the international week will cover trade negotiations, academic exchanges and symposiums, as well as exhibitions by high-tech industries. The scale of this year's event will be greatly expanded from the last one.
Starting this year, the high-tech week will become an annual event sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, the Ministry of Education, and the Beijing Municipal People's Government, Liu said.
