Culture China to Host Tourism Fair in Xinjiang

China will host a national tourism fair this July in the country's westernmost Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, organizers have announced .

More than 26,000 people from travel agencies, hotels, airways, transportation companies, scenic spots, nature reserve management departments, and well as souvenir manufacturing companies are expected to attend the fair.

During the event, the eighth of its kind, participants will be able to enjoy Xinjiang's unique scenery and customs including the Turpan Basin and horse racing, officials with the Xinjiang Tourism Bureau said.

This will be Xinjiang's first opportunity to host the fair, which is aimed at promoting domestic tourism.

A total of 855 exhibit stalls will be provided at the fair, which is being jointly organized by the National Tourism Administration and the regional government.
