The head coach Wang Jiawei announced on Thursday the cast of the volleyball players of the Chinese men's volleyball team for the up-coming Asian qualifiers for the 2000 Olympic Games.

Wang added Yu De and Shen Dawei to the squad to boost the team' s chance to qualify for Sydney following its flop at the World Cup tournament in Japan last month.

The remaining players had all competed at the World Cup. They are Zhou Jian'an, Wang Hebin, Zhang Limin, Zhang Xiang, Chen Fang, Zheng Liang, Zhu Gang, Chen Qi, Lu Weizhong and Li Tieming.

To qualify for Sydney now, China has to finish first in the Asian qualifiers to start on December 27 in Shanghai, China. The other competing teams are South Korea, Japan and Chinese Taipei.
