China Portugal Opens Consulate General in Macao

Portugal unveiled its Consulate General in Macao Saturday afternoon.

The Portuguese Consulate General in Macao will start operation on December 23, its first workday after Macao returns to China on December 20.

The European style three-storey yellow building is located in the center of Macao.

Portuguese Foreign Minister Jaime Gama, who is here to attend the ceremony for the transfer of the government of Macao, and Portuguese Macao governor Vasco Rocha Vieira cut ribbons at the inauguration ceremony for the consulate general.

Director of the Macao Branch of Xinhua News Agency Wang Qiren attended the ceremony. (Xinhua)
