Culture Document and Photo Exhibition on Macao's Return

Documents and photos on Macao at the National Library of China are now on an exhibition, which has been attracting a large number of viewers.

The exhibits include nearly 300 documentary books and more than 200 photos. The books give a full picture of Macao's politics, economics, history, culture, education, sports, arts, customs and religions, while the photo exhibit shows Macao society, scenery and customs.

The 20,000-character captions for the exhibition provide detailed accounts of the historic backgrounds of Macao and the process of its return to the motherland.

It also shows the successful practice of the "one country, two systems" policy following Hong Kong's return on July 1, 1997.

The books include new collections as well as rare and invaluable books dating back to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).
