Culture Photo Exhibition on Macao's Return to China in Wellington

A photo exhibition on Macao 's return to China began in Wellington Thursday.

Displayed at the Michael Fowler Center in downtown Wellington, the 70 photos vividly record Macao's yesterday and today, and reflect the desire of Macao residents for return to the motherland.

The exhibition is attracting many overseas Chinese residing in Wellington and New Zealanders who are making effort to promote New Zealand-China friendship.

While watching the exhibition carefully, a New Zealander of Chinese origin told Xinhua that the concept of "one country, two systems" initiated by the late Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping is very wise. The policy, which successfully solved the issue of Hong Kong's return to China two years ago, will soon solve the issue of Macao's.

He noted that the policy of "one country, two systems", which has ensured Hong Kong's stability and prosperity after its return to China, will also be a success in Macao.

The exhibition will last for a week.
