Chinese archeologists recently confirmed that a pottery workshop previously excavated in Jiaozuo in Henan Province, central China, was built during the early Warring States Period (475-221 B.C.).

Along with the workshop, some ten tombs of the Han Dynasty (206 B.C.- A.D. 220) were also discovered at a construction site near the building.

Many gray-colored clay containers of various shapes and designs were unearthed in the workshop, and among them archeologists found a square-shaped seal with the words "pottery workshop" in Chinese on the handle of one container.

Local experts say this find provides more significant information for determining the age of local cultural relics. Further research and protection of the workshop and tombs is now underway.
