The fourth Chinese Farmers' Games will be held in Mianyang of Sichuan Province from October 29 to November 4, 2000. It was announced in Beijing on December 15.

It is the first time Sichuan will host such large-scale national sports meet.

Sanctioned by the Ministry of Agriculture and the State Sports General Administration, preparatory work is in full swing. Thirteen events including track and field, basketball, table tennis and new ones - kite flying, shuttlecock and dragon boat race, will be featured events.
