The World Cup overall leader Janica Kostelic was injured heavily after a big crash in a downhill training session on Thursday in St Moritz, Switzerland.

The Croatian teenager, 17, fell on her back after coming off a jump and careered into safety netting.

Swiss radio reported she had torn ligaments in her right knee and could be sidelined for up to six months.
