Culture Painting Celebrates Return of Macao to China

A painting of 1,999 horses has been completed and will be presented to the Macao Special Administrative Region to mark China's resumption of sovereignty over the region.

It has taken Meng Qinglong and Zhang Xin, a couple at Nanjing Army Command College, three years to finish the painting which is 19.99 meters long and 0.30 meters wide.

The 1,999 horses are painted in different sizes. There are 20 of them in the foreground of the painting and 12 in the background, representing December 20, 1999, the day Macao returns to China. (Xinhua)
