Some 244 bodies of the Dashun shipwreck have been found at the accident site near the coast city of Yantai in Shandong Province, east China, according to the latest report on December 5.

Only six of the recovered bodies remain unidentified, and there are still 36 people missing.

With 262 passengers and 40 crew members on board, the Dashun, owned by the Yantai Yanda Automobile Ferry Company, caught fire on the afternoon of November 24 and was forced to turn back from its course to the port of Dalian in Liaoning Province, northeast China.

The ship sank at about midnight the same day. Twenty-two people were rescued alive.
