China King Abdullah bin al-Hussein Visits China

At the invitation of Chinese President Jiang Zemin, Abdullah bin al-Hussein, king of the Kingdom of Jordan, arrives in Beijing December 6 to begin his three-day state visit to China.

Born in Amman on January 30, 1962, King Abdullah bin al-Hussein began his education in succession at the Islamic Educational College, the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in the United Kingdom, Oxford University and undergoing a one-year special studies course in international politics and world affairs. In 1993, King Abdullah was appointed as Commander of the Jordanian Special Forces. In 1994, he was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General, in 1996, he became commander of the Royal Jordanian Special Forces, in May 1998, he was promoted to the rank of Major General. On February 7, 1999, he ascended the throne.

King Abdullah has visited China for three times.
