China Sea Areas Close To Zhejiang Province Contaminated

A two-year investigation has revealed that the sea areas close to China's Zhejiang Province have been contaminated to varying degrees, mostly because of an influx of pollutants from the inland.

The worsening of pollution has led to red tides and other ocean disasters in recent years.

Zhejiang Province has taken measures for the protection of the ocean environment that would improve the control of pollutants and environment monitoring systems and raise public awareness of the problem. (Xinhua)
