Sports China's Zhou Reaches Badminton GP Semis

China's Zhou Mi became the first women's singles semi-finalist at the badminton World Grand Prix finals after beating Mette Sorensen of Denmark 11-3, 11-1 in Group D in Brunei on Thursday.

Malaysian youngster Wong Choong Hann and Indonesia's Hendrawan also reached the last four. World number six Wong dismissed China 's Luo Yigang 17-14, 15-5 while Hendrawan upset world number four Poul-Erik Hoyer-Larsen 15-9, 15-10 in Group D.

Wong will next face China's winless Xia Xuanze while Wong's two victims Luo and Indonesian world number three Taufik Hidayat play each other. (Xinhua)
