Education A Large Education Information Network Expected in Jiangsu by 2010

An education information system will be launched to cover all urban and country-based primary and middle schools in Jiangsu Province by 2002. A bigger step to this is the province will have all of its middle schools and above linked up to a massive internet by 2010.

To speed up its education information construction, Jiangsu will adopt an education information system and a campus management system. Starting from 1999, its education departments at all levels will transmit information and related data by software. Primary and middle schools will also gradually use software to transmit information. By 2002, computerized management will be generally introduced to include all schools in the province. By 2010, with middle schools being linked up to internet, an education information system will be formed to include education statistics, personnel training, school roll management, enrollment management and graduates job service. At present, some primary and middle schools in Wuxian City in the province have made the education information management come true.
