Culture Guilin to Celebrate 2110th Anniversary

Guilin, one of China's most famous scenic spots, will organize a range of activities on November 22 to celebrate its 2110th anniversary.

According to historical records, Guilin, located in south China 's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, was built at Shi'an County during the Western Han Dynasty (206 B.C.- 24 A.D.). However, no tombs from this period have been excavated to date, leading experts to surmise that tombs were destroyed during construction of the city.

Guilin is renowned for its green mountains, clear water and strangely-shaped stone formations.
