Saturday, November 20, 1999, updated at 10:54(GMT+8)![]() ![]() Nanjing, the capital of Jiangsu Province in east China, issued a regulation on Thursday that will protect excavated cultural relics in Nanjing. This is the first time that China has issued such a protection law to protect the excavation of cultural relics. Rewards and punishments are also stipulated in the regulation to protect Nanjing's cultural heritage. Nanjing is abundantly rich in cultural relics and has been the capital of ten dynasties in China.
