China Body of Former Procurator-General Cremated

The body of the late Huang Huoqing, former procurator-general of the Supreme People's Procuratorate of China, was cremated in Beijing on November 18.

Huang died of illness in Beijing on November 9 at the age of 99.

Huang was also a member of the Standing Committee of the former Central Advisory Commission of the Chinese Communist Party (CPC).

During Huang's hospitalization and since his death, senior leaders including Jiang Zemin, Li Peng, Zhu Rongji, Li Ruihuan and Li Lanqing visited him or expressed their sympathy to his relatives.

A ceremony was held before the cremation. Senior officials including Hu Jintao, Wei Jianxing, Luo Gan and Zeng Qinghong attended.
