Sports China Beat South Korea in Women's World Cup Volleyball

China beat arch rival South Korea 25-23, 25-22, 16-25, 25-17 in the women's World Cup volleyball tournament in Kanazawa, Japan,on Thursday.

Sun Yue, captain of the Chiense squad, proved unstoppable for the South Korean players. In the middle of the fourth set, she delivered her team a lead by five points with some very difficult services and finally gave China the win.

"For the Chinese and South Korean teams, we know each other very well. The South Korean team is very strong and they played well in offense and defense," said Hu Jin, head coach of the Chinese team.

Hu added: "In the third set, our players were not used to the fast attacks of the South Koreans, so they lost. But we strengthened attack in the fourth set and gave them heavy pressure.

"Generally speaking, I'm satisfied with the result," Hu said.

Sun said: "Today I was able to show my ability because I had a lot of hard training."
