Education China to Enroll 120,000 Graduate Students

The Ministry of Education announced October 27 that Chinese universities will enroll 120,000 graduate students next year, an increase of 30 percent compared to this year.

A ministry official said that this is to provide more opportunities for study as well as to meet the nation's developing needs.

The ministry selected special test sites in Hong Kong, Macao, Guangzhou and Beijing for applicants from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan. The joint-test method will continue to be used for applicants seeking a MBA degree.

Mainland applicants for a master's degree may sign-up from November 10 to November 14, with tests date from February 22 to February 24, 2000; the sign-up dates for applicants from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan are from December 1 to 31, with the test dates from April 8 to 9, 2000. (Xinhua)
