Education College On-Line Enrollment Operating Smoothly

�� China October 20 reported initial success in on-line enrollment of college students as over 400 universities have enrolled nearly 200,000 freshmen this year via the nationwide computer network.

�� China is accepting on-line applications in universities in ten municipalities and provinces including Beijing, Tianjin, Liaoning, and Shanghai. Nearly 200 universities have made use of the computer enrollment service in seven municipalities and provinces including Beijing, Tianjin and Shanghai.

�� An official from the Ministry of Education told Xinhua said that four autonomous regions, provinces and municipalities including Guangxi, Sichuan, Shanghai and Tianjin have accepted the largest number of freshmen, each registering over 15,000 freshmen this year.

�� Among the 13 universities designated by the Ministry of Education to register students via computer, Northwest University has accepted the largest number of freshmen. (Xinhua)
