China's smartphone maker Huawei is suing Samsung claiming infringement of smartphone patents.
Huawei has filed lawsuits in China and the United States.
The Shenzhen-based company is seeking compensation for what it said was unlicensed use of 4G cellular communications technology, operating systems and user interface software in Samsung phones.
The specific patents involved in the case have not been revealed.
Huawei said it invested 9.2 billion U.S. dollars, or 15 percent of annual revenue, in researching and developing technologies, products and wireless communications standards last year.
The company has been granted over 50-thousand patents globally as of Dec. 31.
