Electric vehicles will be exempted of charges in parking and toll ways in Beijing.

That's a policy expected to be officially announced soon in the Chinese capital to encourage low carbon life.

Thanks to incentive measures, more than five thousand electric vehicles were registered in the first half of this year.

Of them, nearly two thousand were registered in June alone, almost double the number in the previous month.

The Beijing Municipal government has also promised to build more charging posts to improve availability.

Currently, some 1700 charging posts are in service in 225 stations in the city.
