GUANGZHOU, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- Chaozhou City in south China's Guangdong Province established sisterly ties with San Francisco on Tuesday and mayors of the two cities looked forward to cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, finance, technology, culture and education.
The two cities also signed a cooperation agreement on culture to encourage non-governmental organizations and enterprises to exchange and cooperate.
Chaozhou will host a Chinese arts and crafts exhibition in San Francisco next year as part of the agreement, according to Chaozhou city government.
"The sister city relationship will help Chaozhou to attract more talent from the U.S. and promote the city's culture overseas," said Li Qingxiong, mayor of Chaozhou.
Chaozhou is a famous historical and cultural city, characterized by its unique dialect, opera, cuisine, tea, and lion dance.
