BEIJING, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi sent a message of condolences to his Vietnamese counterpart, Pham Binh Minh, on Monday over two devastating typhoons ripping through the country recently.
In his message, Wang expressed deep grief and sympathy with families of the victims and the Vietnamese affected by typhoons Haiyan and Podul.
He also believed that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Vietnamese government, the Vietnamese people would overcome the disasters and restore life as soon as possible.
Super typhoon Haiyan slashed northern Vietnam on Nov. 11, leaving 13 people dead and 81 others injured.
Typhoon Podul hit Vietnam's central provinces on Nov. 15, killing at least 31 people and inundating thousands of houses.
