SEOUL, Nov. 14-- Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi is set to visit South Korea to hold talks with the country's senior presidential security advisor, Seoul's Foreign Ministry said Thursday.

Yang, who is in charge of foreign affairs, will arrive in Seoul on Sunday on a three-day visit.

During his trip, Yang will hold in-depth discussion with Kim Jang-soo, chief national security advisor to President Park Geun- hye, on various issues such as China-South Korea ties and situation on Korean Peninsula and in Northeast Asia as well as regional cooperation.

Yang will pay a courtesy call on President Park and have a luncheon meeting with South Korean Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se.

His visit comes after leaders of the two neighbors agreed to set up a diplomatic channel on security issues during President Park's visit to Beijing in June.
