BEIJING, Oct. 23 -- After a trip to eastern China's Anhui Province on Wednesday, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev concluded his two-day visit to China.
Delivering a speech at the University of Science and Technology of China in Hefei, capital of Anhui, Medvedev said Russia is willing to create favorable conditions for cultural and academic exchanges between students of the two countries.
Recalling how China and Russia joined hands to battle devastating flooding on the Heilongjiang River, known in Russia as the Amur, which hit eastern Russia and northeastern China this summer, Medvedev said that Russia-China friendship is reflected in the mutual help in time of trouble.
The Russia-China relationship is now in the best period in history, he said.
Medvedev also visited the Institute of Plasma Physics at the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
He met with Anhui's party chief Zhang Baoshun and governor Wang Xuejun, and the two sides agreed to further promote cooperation between Anhui and Russia.
During Medvedev's visit to Beijing on Tuesday, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and Medvedev held the 18th regular meeting of Chinese and Russian heads of government.
Chinese President Xi Jinping and top legislator Zhang Dejiang also met with Medvedev on Tuesday.
