China understands Croatia's European integration efforts

BEIJING, July 1 (Xinhua) -- Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said Monday that China understands Croatia's efforts to join in the European integration process.

Hua made the remarks when asked to comment on Croatia's accession to the EU, which took place on Monday.

She said Croatia's EU membership represents progress in the process of European integration.

China has always supported European integration, as well as the EU's role in international affairs, she said.

China will work with Europe and Croatia to push for the greater development of China-EU ties, as well as China-Croatia ties, she said.
