BEIJING, April 28 (Xinhua) -- Chinese police handed a rape suspect over to their Russian counterparts on Sunday, China's Ministry of Public Security (MPS) revealed.
In 2007, Chzhan Yuntszin is suspected to have raped a 15-year-old girl he adopted and in 2010 molested his own daughter, who was 11, according to the MPS.
Chinese police arrested the suspect in the city of Nanning, in southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region under the request of the Russian side.
The MPS didn't give the exact date of his arrest.
It said Chinese and Russian police have strengthened cooperation since last year to fight terrorism, drugs, Internet and cross-border crimes and law enforcement security under the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
It also said Public Security Minister Guo Shengkun visited Russia from April 25 to 27, deepening the two countries' cooperation in law enforcement and security.
