BOAO, Hainan, April 7 (Xinhua) -- China will continue to promote friendship and partnership with its neighbors, consolidate friendly ties and deepen mutually beneficial cooperation with them, Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) here Sunday.

As a Chinese saying goes, neighbors wish each other well, just as loved ones do to each other, Xi said, delivering a keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the BFA Annual Conference 2013.

China will ensure that its development will bring even greater benefits to its neighbors, he said.

Xi emphasized that China will vigorously promote development and prosperity in both Asia and the world.

"China's interests have never been so closely connected with those of the rest of Asia and the world in both scope and depth," Xi said, adding that the more China grows itself, the more development opportunities it will create for the rest of Asia and the world.

"We are firm in our resolve to uphold peace and stability in Asia and the world," he said,

China will continue to play a constructive role in addressing regional and global hotpot issues, encourage dialogue and talks for peace, and work tirelessly to solve the relevant issues properly through dialogue and negotiations, Xi said.

He also said that China will energetically promote regional cooperation in Asia and around the world.
