Gao Junge, 26, with a master's degree, once had a stable job with good salary in a state-owned company. Last summer, she quit the job and worked as a waitress in a chain hotpot restaurant.
Gao is often asked whether her choice is a wasting of brain power, after all, she had studied in college for seven years.
“I used to be arrogant when I was at school. Being a waitress helps me change,” said Gao Junge, adding that she wanted to tramp around and take a lot of different jobs when she was young.
Gao values the room for career growth and advancement her current job offers. She said that she is fed up with the complex office politics and enjoys the simple happiness of being a waitress.
