Drugs suspect die in police raid

A suspected drug trafficker jumped to his death after a gun battle with police in southwest China's Sichuan Province on Wednesday, local police said.

Police raided an apartment in Chenghua District at about 11 a.m. to arrest a drug trafficking ring and were later fired upon by the suspects, according to a statement from the public security bureau of Chengdu, the provincial capital.

One suspect jumped from the 10th floor and died at about 1:53 p.m. and another two suspects were arrested. One policeman was also injured on the right shoulder, according to the statement.

Police are still investigating the case.
