XI'AN, July 22 (Xinhua) -- Seven people were confirmed dead on Monday due to mudslides triggered by heavy rain in northwest China's Shaanxi Province, local authorities said.
Heavy rain has battered most parts of the city of Yan'an since Sunday night, triggering mudslides in Fuxian and Yanchang counties, according to a statementfrom Yan'an's flood control and drought relief headquarters.
A mudslide in Fuxian County killed four people, while another three died in a mudslide in Yanchang County, the statement said, adding that the four injured are being treated at local hospitals.
