Three top executives from scandal-ridden British company GlaxoSmithKline are in China to deal with a rising storm over corruption allegations. The pharmaceutical giant issued an apology statement on July 15th in response to the investigation launched by China.

On Monday, Chinese police charged GSK for bribing officials and doctors to boost sales and raise the price of its medicines in China. They said GSK transferred up to 489 million dollars to 700 travel agencies and consultancies over six years to facilitate the bribes.

The police also said they have plenty of evidence that some high rank officials of GSK and related travel agencies have been involved in tax-related crimes and commercial bribery.
