Rainstorms kill 34 in China

BEIJING, July 1 (Xinhua) -- Natural disasters caused by rainstorms have ravaged nine provincial-level regions since June 29, leaving 34 dead and another 12 missing, according to the Ministry of Civil Affairs on Monday.

The ministry reported 18 deaths and four missing people in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, nine deaths and four missing in east China's Anhui Province, five deaths and four missing in southwest China's Sichuan Province, one death in central China's Hubei Province and one death in southwest China's Chongqing municipality.
