Young man arrested for raping 5-year-old girl to 'seek a thrill'

A 19-year-old man was arrested yesterday in Xiamen City, Fujian Province, in connection with the rape of a five-year-old girl, China Youth Daily reported.

Jiang Kaixun, had previously worked on a construction site in Quanzhou, Fujian.

On May 21, the child was raped in a shed on the site, where she had been playing.

"When she returned home, my daughter told her grandmother that a man had attacked her," the girl's father said.

"I called the police, but the rapist ran away when the police arrived."

The child's father said a hospital examination confirmed that she had been raped.

According to the taihainet.com website, Jiang confessed to police that he had raped the girl, saying he had been "seeking a thrill"

Investigations are continuing.
