(Global Times)

08:29, April 26, 2013

Railway police at Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station apprehended a Jiangsu Province woman wanted for selling her infant son for 20,000 yuan ($3,238) last year, the Youth Daily reported Thursday.

The woman, surnamed Zhang, had been wanted by Jiangsu police on charges of trafficking women and children.

Zhang gave birth to the baby in her hometown in October, but decided to sell him to a distant relative because she wasn't married. The baby's father had dumped her when he found out she had gotten pregnant.
