Mine accident kills 7 in central China

CHANGSHA, April 15 (Xinhua) -- Seven miners were confirmed dead in a coal and gas outburst that happened in a colliery in central China's Hunan Province late Sunday, the local government said on Monday.

The accident occurred around 8:10 p.m. in Gaoyan coal mine, Xiangmei township of Yongxing County.

An investigation into the accident is under way.
