NANCHANG, March 13 (Xinhua) -- Six members of a family were killed and one injured in a house fire in a village in east China's Jiangxi Province on Tuesday night, the local fire department said Wednesday.
Preliminary investigation showed that flammable materials set alight when the family burned incense for religious purposes.
A total of nine members of the family were present when the accident happened at 11 p.m. in Le'an County of Fuzhou City. Two were rescued by firefighters. The injured person was sent to hospital and is in a stable condition.
The accident is under further investigation.
