Lin Yuanzhi, from Pingdong city in Taiwan is in his second year of a master degree in Mass Communication, at the Fu Jen Catholic University. Currently, he studies in the School of Journalism and Communication at Renmin University of China as an exchange student. During his first half a year in Chinese mainland, he did a lot of "crazy" things which made him the centre of attention in campus, including hand-painting postcards with Taiwan's tourist attractions and selling them in campus, flying lanterns made by him and his friends, organizing a barbecue party in a university bicycle shed on "doomsday" and creating his own short film. "Freedom" and "dream" were the two words most frequently mentioned when he talked about his exchange experiences. He said that thanks to the status of exchange student, he was lucky to have a six month experience to enjoy Beijing and take a temporary leave of relatively heavy academic pressure from his master degree in Taiwan. His unforgettable and happy memories from Beijing will give him courage to repair Taiwan's social prejudices about Chinese mainland after he comes back. About to graduate in June, Lin is planning to return to work in mainland. Beijing and Shanghai are his first choices.
