BEIJING, December 10 (ChinaMil) -- Xu Qiliang, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and vice chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC) of the CPC, attended the working meeting on military standardization of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) on December 9, 2013 in Beijing.

Zhang Youxia, member of the CMC and director of the General Armaments Department (GAD) of the PLA, attended and addressed the meeting.

Xu Qiliang stressed that it is imperative to strive to set standards in construction and application of systematic combat, unify standards in information construction and standardize standards in joint operations, it is essential to establish and improve standards in actual-troop military training to improve troops' capability for systematic confrontation and level of actual-combat training, it is necessary to systematically establish standards in quality of military vocational education to provide a basis for selecting and training high-caliber personnel, and it is important to keep developing standards in equipment system and joint support, and establish perfect standards in equipment system.

Liu Guozhi, deputy director of the GAD, made a work report. Leaders of the PLA Air Force, the PLA Beijing Military Area Command (MAC) and related departments of the PLA four general headquarters/departments as well as representatives from military industrial enterprises delivered speeches at the meeting.
