CHEBARKUL, August 13 (ChinaMil) -- The Chinese and Russian troops participating in the China-Russia joint anti-terrorism military exercise codenamed "Peace Mission 2013" carried out an all-personnel and all-element coordinated training on August 12, 2013.

The two sides dispatched troops totaling about 900 and around 130 pieces of weaponry and equipment including tank, infantry combat vehicle, helicopter and fighter-bomber.

Shi Xiangyuan, chief director of the Chinese directing department and deputy commander of the Shenyang Military Area Command (MAC) of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), and Bergnovsky, chief director of the Russian directing department and commander of Russia's Central Military Area Command, observed and guided the training on the site.

The training kicked off at 12:00, local time, at the Chebarkul combined training range of the Russia's Central Military Area Command. It fell into four stages, namely, conducting early reconnaissance, implementing blockade and control, destroying main force of the "terrorists", and pursuing and wiping out remnants of the "enemy".

The officers and men of the two sides conducted the training on such subjects as reconnaissance and search, joint blockade and control, clean-up in divided areas, joint fire strike, besieging the "enemy" stronghold to strike at its reinforcements, and charging into depth for pursuit and annihilation successively.

"The coordinated training is very successful," said Pan Liangshi, commander of the campaign headquarters of the Chinese side and commander of the 39th Group Army of the PLA, in an interview. Compared with previous ones, the coordinated training had smoother communication between commanding organs of the two sides and better teamwork between the participating troops.

Pan Liangshi also said that the air force battle group, the army aviation detachment, the ground artillery and the special operation detachment were all formed in mixed grouping during the training. According to preliminary estimates, the hit rates of various firearms were up to over 90 percent.
