Russian warships enter Mediterranean

Russian naval vessels including the destroyer Admiral Panteleyev, the tanker Pechenga and the rescue tugboat Fotiy Krylov docked at Limassol as part of a four-day visit to the Mediterranean island, Russia's defense ministry said in a statement. The vessels, which are attached to Russia's Pacific fleet, arrived in the Mediterranean sea in recent days as Russia maintains a strong presence in the eastern Mediterranean, especially in light of the civil war now engulfing Syria where Moscow has a key naval base.
