Fang Fenghui, member of the Central Military Commission (CMC) of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and chief of general staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), Zhang Yang, member of the CMC and director of the General Political Department (GPD) of the PLA, Zhao Keshi, member of the CMC and director of the General Logistics Department (GLD) of the PLA, and Zhang Youxia, member of the CMC and director of the General Armaments Department (GAD) of the PLA, went to the Huabei Hotel to visit the members of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) from the PLA to attend the First Session of the 12th CPPCC and give mobilization speech on behalf of Xi Jinping, chairman of the CMC, and other leaders of the CMC as well as the four general headquarters/departments of the PLA on the morning of March 2, 2013.
The PLA members of the CPPCC National Committee were very grateful to the leaders of the CMC and the four general headquarters/departments of the PLA for their care and expressed that they would resolutely implement the requirements of the CPC Central Committee and the CMC, maintain a high degree of unity with the CPC Central Committee and effectively maintain the PLA's good image of people's army at any time and under any circumstance, and they would live up to the great trust of the people, perform their duties, submit more constructive proposals, and play a better role in participating in the administration and discussion of state affairs.
The new PLA members of the CPPCC National Committee total 122 people from 15 sectors, including 91 newly-appointed members and 31 reappointed members, 18 female members and 11 ethnic minority members with an average age of 59.7.
