Kunqu opera and the Suzhou gardens are two of the most prized cultural treasures in China, and now they have come together for a very special show.

Kunqu opera has more than 600 years of history, and is listed as a Masterpiece of Oral and intangible heritage by UNESCO. This piece is called "The Peony Pavilion" and is known as one of the most treasured works of Kunqu opera.

Zhong Rongming, Organizer of "The Peony Pavilion", said, "Many scenes in The Peony Pavilion take place in gardens, so that’s why we have staged the show in an authentic Suzhou garden. I think the opera and the garden integrate seamlessly, and present an immersive experience for the audience."
