Dreamworks' new 3-D animated film "The Croods" takes us back to prehistoric times for a wacky family adventure. The film features the voice of Nicholas Cage, who plays an overprotective father named Grug.

The Croods are forced out of their cave and into unknown territory. The world as they know it is coming to an end, setting the scene for Hollywood star Nicolas Cage to channel his inner cave-man.

For Cage, voicing is quite a physical business.

He said, "I'm a pretty physical guy, like if you put me in a box with a microphone and video camera and I'm trying to find a character, the hands are going to start going and the voice."

And for directors Kirk De Micco and Chris Sanders, casting Cage in the film was no easy business either. It proved to be a game of cat and mouse as they chased him across the world.
