ISLAMABAD, June 7 (Xinhua) -- A 25-member Pakistani cabinet Friday took oath, marking completion of the government formation following the May 11 general elections.
President Asif Ali Zardari administered the oath to the cabinet members at the President House in Islamabad.
The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Speaker of National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, parliamentarians, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Services Chiefs, politicians, diplomats and high officials.
Nawaz Sharif's Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had emerged the single largest party and has formed the government.
Majority of the cabinet members belong to the PML-N and some were inducted from the allied parties.
Portfolios will be announced later.
The cabinet comprises 16 federal Ministers and nine Ministers of State.
The Federal Ministers include Ishaq Dar, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Abdul Qadir Baloch, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Rana Tanweer, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Saad Rafiq, Zahid Hamid, Sardar Yousuf, Pervez Rashid, Kamran Micheal, Sikandar Bosan, Sadruddin Rashdi, Ahsan Iqbal, Barjees Tahir and Murtaza Jatoi.
The Ministers of State are Mian Balighur Rehman, Usman Ibrahim, Khurram Dastagir, Jam Kamal, Sheikh Aftab Ahmed, Abdul Haleem Baloch, Saira Afzal Tarar, Anoshe Rehman and Pir Aminul Hasnat.
Sartaj Aziz and Shujaat Azeem have been appointed as Advisors to the Prime Minister. Sartaj Aziz has been appointed as Advisor on National Security and Foreign Affairs while Shujaat Azeem has been appointed Advisor on Aviation.
Sanaullah Zehri and Tariq Fatmi have been appointed Special Assistants to the Prime Minister.
