MANAMA, May 26 (Xinhua) -- Bahrain's foreign affairs minister on Sunday slammed Hezbollah secretary-general Hassan Nasrallah for the latter's speech over providing military support for Syria's government, state-run Bahrain news agency reported.

"Nasrallah is a terrorist declaring war on his country," Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa said in a message posted on his twitter account.

He called for stopping Nasrallah and saving the Lebanese people from him, claiming that "stopping Nasrallah and rescuing Lebanon from him is a national and religious duty."

In a televised speech on Saturday marking the 13th anniversary of the Liberation and Resistance, Hezbollah's leader said his group's volunteers were participating in the fighting in Syria.

Bahrain, a Sunni-controlled government with a Shiite majority, has called repeatedly to blacklist Hezbollah as a terrorist organization.
