Singapore, Brunei to exchange ideas on environmental issues

SINGAPORE, May 16 (Xinhua) -- Singapore's Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources on Thursday said they are scheduled to have the 7th Brunei-Singapore Annual Exchange of Visits during the following two days, mainly focusing on idea exchanges and bilateral collaboration on environmental issues.

Pehin Dato Suyoi Haji Osman, the Minister of Development of Brunei, will be on visit here from Friday to Saturday.

During the annual meeting held between the city-state's Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources and Brunei's Ministry of Development, officials from both countries will " exchange information and views on environmental and water issues of mutual interest as well as review the progress of joint activities and collaboration in the areas of solid waste management, air quality monitoring, water resource management and an environmental youth exchange programme."

The ministry said the active information exchange and collaboration between the two countries will help both side to address common environmental challenges and opportunities.
